Pinterest is rolling out it’s ‘news’ feature which will replace the activity feed. ‘News’ will display where your pins, repins and likes are going. This will create more user friendly data and the ability to reach out to more relevant followers. Pinterest has created ‘news’ with the hopes of pinners finding more relevant pictures and locating pins easier. Pinterest says this new feature will roll out over the next few weeks although some pinners have already been exposed to it starting back January 16, 2013.
Pinners will be able to access ‘news’ in two places. One will be in the left hand column (where activity feed currently exists) and also on the pinner’s profile page. A ‘news’ section will be located next to follower count. How does this differ from the already created activity feed? Rather than only seeing which of your pins were repinned or liked, ‘news’ will display where these pins are going which will reveal more relevant content. This will bring those with same interests to connect and make finding pinned photos easier.
